Consciousness in the Living World
explore what it means to be human in a world of infinite intelligences
Join us Sunday, August 23rd at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen for Frontiers of Knowledge, a mind-expanding day of conversation with world-renowned scientists, philosophers, and authors.
In 2026, our leading-edge speaker series reawakens the understanding that consciousness has many forms and occurs throughout the living world. We will explore how human consciousness developed in deep interaction with the natural world, walk through changing perceptions of animal experience, and consider how our newest intelligence, a human creation, is ours to direct and nurture.
How might we think about life in this expanded universe? What does it mean to be human in the cosmos at this time?
Our Mission
Over the last century, a new story has been unfolding through discoveries in physics, the life sciences and consciousness studies; through new insights in philosophy and spirituality; and a renaissance in access to altered states of consciousness.
This story restores our sense of wonder, of wholeness, of connectedness, of meaning. It has profound implications for our relationship with the earth, with the entire universe; with each other; with our creative capabilities and how they are expressed in our business, politics, the arts and religious institutions.
Please join us as we share this new story as told by leading thinkers, scientists, spiritual leaders, and media icons from around the world. This annual event is held in Aspen, a place with a majestic backdrop that reminds us of our deep connection with each other and the natural world.
